What medicine could possibly remedy a sun poisoning/sun allergy?

Question by jr_9950: What medicine could possibly remedy a sun poisoning/sun allergy?
Before I explain my problem, let me first state that the reason I am asking this question on Answers is because 2 doctors have not yet been able to help me with this problem.

When I get sun burned, even slightly, I have an allergic reaction which begins occuring within 24-36 hours, that which shows no visable signs of it's presence.

The pain I begin feeling, on a scale of 1-10, is a 10. To describe the pain, it begins like a prick from a needle. The pricks begin occuring all over my back and shoulders. It is like a reaction of nerve bundles going crazy. It literally feels like a non-stop needle pricking occuring all over the burn area, and it is not a typical burning sensation.

I was given Silver Sulphadiazene as given to burn victims. It does not do a thing to stop the emmense pricking sensation.

Can someone point to an answer for my problem? What is the magic cream which can deaden this nerve problem? No tried creams will stop any of the pain, it has become unbearable.
By the way, someone once gave me a cream that was prescribed by a doctor for sun poisoning. This cream was the only known thing that could ever deaden the pain when used. Since then, they have thrown the cream away, and we do not know what is actually was. The doctor would not prescribe a sun-poisoning cream, because he said the burn didn't appear to be sun poisoning, but the problem is that much more is occuring that the docter cannot see. I would like to present a recommend cream to a docter in hopes it will be the cure that I have used before.
Aloe will not work, nothing "ordinary" will work. I have tried everything. It needs to be something powerful in a way of deadening the nerves, only prescription I have a feeling. So far, it seems like I have an isolated problem not experienced by anyone I have come across. It is almost unexplainable, as it only occurs in the areas where I get sun the least, not on the face and arms where I just feel the normal "burn".
I asked this here because I assumed someone who has had this happen, or who has had sun poisoning could recommend the cream that actually works.

It is apparent I am not being treated right, because like I said I have taken the cure before, we just need help finding it again. It was prescription and simple soothing methods aren't going to suffice here. I wish I could find someone who experiences this pricking like I do. I literally almost breakdown screaming, it is unearable. I cannot sleep, I cannot sit still, I cannot lay down. It is the worst pain I have ever experienced in my life, I don't understand it. I try to prevent it, but the sun lotion, even 50spf, rubs off at times and I get red spots this occurs in.

Try taking a bath with some regular home bought vinegar. Just run your bath water and put in a couple of cups of vinger and you will be able to feel how cool it makes your skin feel.

YOU SHOULD GO TO THE PHARMACY AND ASK FOR THE CREAM OF IRRITATION I ALSO HAD THE SAME PROBLEM LIKE YOU BUT I STARTED USING THIS CREAM FOR IRRITATION AND THE PAIN STOP.

Aloe Vera is very healing but you have to drink it as well as use it on the skin... everyday, all the time will be best for you to build up an immunity before you go into the sun.

Since I have been drinking Aloe Vera drinks on a daily basis I no longer get sunburned, and I do not use sun screen at all...

Apple Cider vinegar is also very healing for sunburns and takes the sting away... If infact you are allergic to the sun you will ust have to stay out of it and stay covered...

In the beginning of your description you say no visible signs but later you mention red spots. Has shingles been considered?
I'm not a doc but several neighbors of mine in Arizona had shingles and they speak of the pain, it is usually on the trunk of the body and they have to stay out of the sun. I mean they have to just keep a shirt on really as the sunlight only affects the trunk area where there problem.

I had horrible sun poisoning from the back of my neck to the back of my knees when I was 15 (trip to Bahamas and baby oil, big mistake!) As soon as I arrived home, my mom took me to the doctor. I was given an Amedral (amerdoral?) dose pack (7 pills first day, 6 the next, 5 the next, and so on.) That fought the burn from the inside out, the hurting feeling was gone after the first few hours. The dose pack is a steroid, so be careful, but I SWEAR by it.

I suffer from the same problem, except if I am exposed to the son for a mere 15 minutes it starts to happen. I just want to know whats wrong with me and why this happens. I've thought that maybe I am allergic to vitamin D. The pain is terrible, but aloe vera, cool showers, and benadryl can often sooth it a little bit.

My suggesion is to get a bole of Solorcain. It acts as a topical anesthetic and will relieve/deaden the pain. If you cannot find the whie version of the product here in the USA go o a website in Canada. That's where I found it for my brother who ran out of it and could not find the white bottle of Solorcain. Good luck.

LET ME ADD SOME CORRECTIONS TO MY PREVIOUS MESSAGE: THE PRODUCT IS A SQUEEZE PLASTIC BOTTLE OF SOLARCAIN. IT WORKS VERY WELL.

I NEVER EXPERIENCED SUN POISONING UNTIL MY LATER YEARS. I BELIEVE A CHANGE IN MY BODY CHEMISTRY/MAKEUP OCCURRED BUT I CAN'T FIGURE WHAT CAUSED THE CHANGE. I WISH THERE IS A PREVENTATIVE DOSE ONE COULD TAKE BEFORE GOING OUT IN THE SUN LIGHT. THE ONLY PREVENTION I DO IS TO TAKE ONE OR TWO CAPSULES OF BENADRYL ALLERGY BEFORE GOING OUT IN THE SUN LIGHT.
