Abstract

The slow rate of growth of Mycobacterium spp. that infect humans combined with deficiencies in reliable in vitro infection imitation systems has impeded the progress of research in host cell-mycobacteria interactions. Recent reports have utilized the relatively quick growing Mycobacterium marinum to look at the host-virus interface in natural seafood hosts.
