Patients’ likelihood of adhering to asthma therapy has been shown to be strongly related to beliefs about the benefits and risks of treatment. Effects of acupuncture on the autonomic nervous system—Results from A Sub-Study of the Acupuncture in Seasonal allergic Rhinitis (ACUSAR) trial
by admin on 25. Jan, 2011 in Health
Background and objective: There is an inconclusive evidence, whether acupuncture treatment is effective in the treatment of allergic rhinitis. Furthermore, the pathways linking acupuncture and health outcomes are only poorly understood. Since immunologic and inflammatory processes are influenced by the autonomic nervous system it was hypothesised, that the therapeutic mechanism of acupuncture is related to changes in the autonomic function.
